The worker lost balance and fell into the&nbsp;<strong>reactor pool<\/strong>\u2014a cavity filled with borated water used to&nbsp;<strong>control radiation<\/strong>&nbsp;in nuclear reactors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite wearing protective gear and a life vest, he was briefly submerged,&nbsp;<strong>ingesting some water<\/strong>&nbsp;before security rescued him. Post-incident measurements showed&nbsp;<strong>300 counts per minute (cpm)<\/strong>&nbsp;radiation in his hair\u2014FEMA&#8217;s threshold triggering radiological protocols.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Specialized personnel&nbsp;<strong>decontaminated him immediately<\/strong>.
