class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These &#8220;glutamatergic astrocytes&#8221; have been found to be involved in neurotransmission, suggesting that they play a role in the distribution of brain signals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Their discovery opens up immense research prospects.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ANDREA VOLTERRA<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This discovery could have important implications for the treatment of brain disorders such as Alzheimer&#8217;s, Parkinson&#8217;s and epilepsy, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Further research is needed to fully understand the
